On April 22, 2022, the unveiling ceremony of the Sino-German Intelligent Roll Forming Manufacturing Demonstration Platform was held at the Higher Research Institute of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Shenzhen).

The event was co-sponsored by Longhua District Investment Promotion and Enterprise Service Center, UESTC (Shenzhen) Advanced Research Institute. And it co-organized by Shenzhen Enterprise High-quality Development Promotion Association. Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission Laboratory and Scientific Research Institution Management Office, Longhua District Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, Longhua District Investment Promotion and Enterprise Service Center leader, Executive Dean and Professor of the Institute for Higher Research Albert Sedlmaier, founder of German company Data M, and the chief representative of State of Bavaria China Office Dr. Ms. Lucie Merkle attended the event both online and offline, and collectively unveiled the Sino-German intelligent roll forming manufacturing demonstration platform.

It is reported that the Sino-German intelligent roll forming manufacturing demonstration platform has established an Industrial R&D model, facing the major needs of innovation and development of the intelligent manufacturing industry, gathering high-quality resources for intelligent manufacturing and entrepreneurial incubation, engaging in intelligent manufacturing core technology research and industrial common key technology research and development, carrying out service activities such as personnel training, testing and consultation, achievement transfer and business incubation, and provide technical support for regional implementation of innovation-driven development strategy.

On behalf of the Longhua District Government, Zhao Yanyan, a member of the party group and deputy district chief, delivered an online speech, expressing warm congratulations on the official unveiling of the platform. She said that at present, Longhua District is vigorously promoting the development of the ten industrial chains of the digital economy such as the industrial Internet, intelligent manufacturing, and 5G. It is making every effort to build a digital economy pilot zone. Longhua District has always attached great importance to international scientific, technological and economic exchanges and cooperation. The District Investment Promotion Center coordinates with the State of Bavaria China Office, docking with data M, a leading German intelligent manufacturing company, and promotes the establishment of a Sino-German intelligent roll forming manufacturing demonstration platform. The platform will promote the landing of advanced German technology in the field of  intelligent manufacturing in Longhua, provide emerging technology support for intelligent manufacturing companies in Longhua District and even Shenzhen, and  help strengthen technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Germany, deepen and expand the depth and breadth of opening-up, explore new mechanism for regional collaborative innovation and development cooperation, accelerate the empowerment of enterprises in the region, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, and promote the vigorous development of the intelligent manufacturing industry.

Tang Zhiwei, Executive Dean of High Research Institute, and Professor Yang Jun said in their speeches that the platform is based on the long-term accumulated achievements of the laboratory in the field of intelligent manufacturing and the integration of high-quality scientific research resources in Germany, aiming to become the world's leading fusion of 5G and depth perception Dynamic collaborative adaptive flexible forming platform to promote the development of intelligent manufacturing equipment industry in Longhua District to the fast lane.

As a partner of the platform, Albert Sedlmaier, the founder of data M company in Bavaria, Germany, and Dr. Lucie Merkle, chief representative of State of Bavaria China Office, respectively delivered online speeches to congratulate the launch of the platform. At the same time, Ms. Dr. Lucie Merkle also expressed her expectation for  further cooperation between Longhua District and Bavaria in the future.

After the unveiling ceremony, more than 10 business representatives participated in the industry-university-research exchange symposium between high research Institute and Longhua District Intelligent Manufacturing Enterprises. The professors introduced the latest scientific research achievements of the team, and the entrepreneurs raised the bottlenecks and problems faced in the innovation and development of enterprises. The two sides discussed enthusiastically and actively sought potential cooperation points.
