Ding Chunfa, CEO of iMakerbase, delivered a welcoming speech in which he highlighted that the company is the most extensively engaged international hardware accelerator in collaboration with South Korea. It is also the only China-Korea Innovation Center supported by the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government. Additionally, iMakerbase plays an active role in facilitating technology exchange and cooperation between Shenzhen’s sister cities, serving as a key platform for Korean entrepreneurs entering the city.

Mayor Jeong In-hwa praised iMakerbase for its significant contributions to China-Korea cooperation. He highlighted iMakerbase’s visit to the Gwangyang Creative Economy Innovation Center in July 2023, which strengthened innovation exchanges between Shenzhen and Gwangyang.

He also noted that Gwangyang is actively advancing innovation and entrepreneurship incubation platforms and providing strong support for local startups, creating opportunities for deeper collaboration with iMakerbase.

During the visit, Mayor Jeong and Ding officiated the launch of a collaborative innovation and incubation initiative between the two cities. The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between iMakerbase and the Gwangyang Startup Valley Enterprise Association to strengthen future cooperation.

As part of the agreement, iMakerbase will act as a hub for Gwangyang entrepreneurs entering Shenzhen, offering comprehensive support in areas such as entrepreneurship mentoring, supply chain services, market development, and investment financing.
