The "State of Bavaria - China Office" is subordinate to the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. It is the official representative office of the Free State Bavaria in China. At present, three offices have been set up in Shandong (1997), Guangdong (2014) and Sichuan (2018).

The three main tasks of the "State of Bavaria - China Office" are:

1) to maintain the relations between Bavaria and China, especially the friendly partner relationships with Shandong and Guangdong, the good cooperations with Sichuan;

2) to support the bavarian enterprises in China;

3) to help the chinese investors invest in Bavaria.
